Isla’s enthusiasm builds a fan base at local builders
Isla Cue did her work experience at construction company TVN On-Country last year and enjoyed it so much she returned to take on a full-time business admin role where she’s delighting everyone with her enthusiasm.
TVN’s People and Corporate Operations Manager, Sarah Gould, says: “Her bubbly personality and impromptu singing always brings a smile to our faces!”
“She is always willing to learn new tasks and take on feedback. Her ability to be adaptable to the office and on-site environments has been wonderful to see,” Sarah added.
Isla said:
“After doing work experience at TVN I was offered a traineeship. I was so excited to accept it because I loved the people and the environment.”
“I’ve created some great personal and career goals during my mentoring sessions with OCP and I’m excited to achieve them.”
On-Country Pathways Program Coordinator, Simone Fox, said: “Isla is on our free Job Placement Support Program and I am checking in with her regularly during the first 12 months of her new job.”
“She’s also undertaking a Cert III in Business Administration, giving her some deadly base skills for wherever life may take her. And she’s already on her green Ps having completed our Driver-Mentor Program a while back.”
Future plans
Isla explained: “Eventually, I want to study nursing and become a midwife which I have wanted to do since I was little so it would be a big achievement for me to do that.”
