Nikki and Bree have completed their Cert III in Business Administration with local Indigenous owned construction company TVN On-Country.

The First Nations women were part of our Job Placement Support Program and are now employed full-time with TVN On-Country carving out their construction careers.

Yorta Yorta woman Nikki has just finished working on the Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence in Shepparton and is now onsite as a contracts administrator, building a new senior hub at Belvoir Special Development School in West Wodonga.

Gunditjamarra woman Bree is based in TVN On-Country’s head office in Wodonga and has already managed her own projects, including one for Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service.

TVN’s trainee mentor, Tamara Shepley, said: “Bree and Nikki worked hard to achieve their qualification and I could not be prouder.”

“Nikki had the added challenge of attending TAFE remotely from Shepparton and Bree achieved her certification in record time she was so committed.”

“These young women are the future of construction in Australia.”

“They debunk the myth that construction is just for men. They have great role models here at TVN On-Country as almost a third of our employees are female,” she added.
